In this course you will explore the following five topics: Identifying nonverbal social signals that reveal such aspects as status and group belonging Recognizing nonverbal cues that convey emotions, feelings and moods Explaining what people are thinking and feeling upon nonverbal cues Interpreting nonverbal cues to decode intentions Examining your own nonverbal behavior By the end of this course, you will be able to: · Identify and interpret social signals by observing nonverbal behavior · Accurately understand the meanings and motives behind people’s nonverbal cues · Use insights from nonverbal communication to guide and improve social interactions · Evaluate others’ social competence and trustworthiness through their nonverbal expressions · Recognize and appreciate basic mentalizing challenges due to cultural differences, psychological disorders, or digital communication · Build self-awareness and self-control over your own nonverbal behavior · Express warmth, reliability, and supportiveness through positive nonverbal communication · Adapt your nonverbal behavior to fit different social and situational contexts The components that guide your learning: 2 Videos 1 Theory exercise (learning retention) 2 Preparation exercises (establishing a baseline) 6 Observation exercises 5 Practice exercises 2 Evaluation exercises (assessing your learning progress) Your time commitment for the course: · The course takes about 10 hours to complete, but you can go at your own pace. · You will have access to the course for 12 months from the date you enroll, so there’s plenty of time to learn, practice, and revisit the material.
