The power to resist influence By the end of this course, you will be able to: · Identify a wide range of influence tactics used in everyday interactions · Recognize the goals and intentions of influencers quickly and accurately · Evaluate people’s vulnerability to influence and predict how they might respond · Understand your own preferred tactics for shaping others’ perspectives and behavior · Recognize your personal susceptibility to others’ influence tactics · Apply all three levels of mentalization — basic, affective, and strategic — to enhance your influence and strengthen your resistance to manipulation · Leverage multiple sources of influential power — including personal, informational, goal-directed, referent, social, and connection power — to influence effectively and ethically The components that guide your learning: 2 Videos 1 Theory exercise (learning retention) 2 Preparation exercises (establishing a baseline) 3 Observation exercises 3 Practice exercises 2 Evaluation exercises (assessing your learning progress) Your time commitment for the course: · The course takes about 10 hours to complete, but you can go at your own pace. · You will have access to the course for 12 months from the date you enroll, so there’s plenty of time to learn, practice, and revisit the material.
